What if something as simple as a backpack—a full kit with essential school supplies—could change a child’s future? For hundreds of children, it does. Education should open doors, not be out of reach because of something as basic as school supplies. Yet, for many families in underserved communities, these resources remain challenging to obtain.
That’s why we launched Backpacks Beyond Borders—to ensure that every child has what they need to learn, grow, and dream bigger.
Our first event of the year wasn’t just a milestone—it was the start of something much bigger. Thanks to an incredible collaboration with Pasitos on a Journey, we were able to donate 1,000 more educational resources than ever before, making this our largest donation to date.
But these supplies are more than just materials; they are opportunities. They allow children to walk into their classrooms with confidence, knowing they belong. They give parents peace of mind, knowing that financial struggles won’t keep their children from learning.
Reaching the Unreachable
Delivering these backpacks wasn’t easy. We traveled deep into the mountains, where altitudes climb over [insert altitude] feet, and phone reception is nearly nonexistent. The journey is long and challenging, yet every morning, these kids walk miles—many barefoot—just to attend school.
Witnessing their determination firsthand and seeing their joy as they received their backpacks was one of the most powerful moments of this experience. These are children whose families were considering pulling them out of school because they couldn’t afford basic supplies. With this initiative, we’ve helped remove that barrier.
What’s Next?
And we’re just getting started. Up next—our Dental Brigade, because a healthy smile is part of a brighter future. This summer, we continue our mission, partnering once again with CAMO and Pasitos on a Journey to expand our impact even further.
